Why do I train in martial arts? It’s simple really, it’s because I love it. I started training in 2012 because I was going through a rough patch in my life and really needed a positive change. CMAA worked out to be more of a positive obsession than a change in the end and I have grown into a better person as a result. Everyone here was so welcoming and straight away treats you like one of the family that whatever rough patch I was going through disappeared. Partner all that with the amazing skills and real-life applications of everything I’ve learned here at CMAA, I couldn’t imagine training anywhere else.
This is possibly one of the best jobs in the world. Working with kids while teaching them the same things that made me a better person and having a positive impact on them and their future. I can honestly say there isn’t a better feeling in the world, and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else now. Teaching adults is also great, and I feel is more of a challenge (which I enjoy) as they can be a little more reserved and a little sceptical but once they get involved and start learning they always come around. The feeling of helping, teaching and passing on knowledge is awesome, and I look forward to doing it for years to come.
