CMAA Kenpo & Kung Fu is focused on stand-up empty hand self-defence, drawing on lessons from Kenpo and traditional Kung Fu styles. The art focuses on self defence through techniques, conditioning and sparring, with the end goal of being able to use these skills in a spontaneous and changing environment.
Teaching self defence focused techniques and traditional training methods from Chinese Kenpo, Hockley Kempo, and American Kenpo, alongside several Kung Fu styles, while incorporating elements of Shaolin Kempo, Jeet Kune Do (JKD), and Wing Chun.
Our Kenpo & Kung Fu program delivers traditional fighting techniques embedded with modern principles. Students will learn a range of techniques which will give them the tools to build their confidence in a wide variety of standing confrontations.
Classes consist of fundamental striking skills, sparring and conditioning drills, self defence techniques, and form work.
We believe martial arts should be taught to improve both the physical and mental part of oneself, whether to achieve the skills to defend ourselves physically or have the self confidence and mental state to not have to be physical at all.
