The Filipino Martial Arts cover a wide range of styles and systems, which are most well-known for the use of weaponry. Students will learn defensive and offensive skills with an overarching goal of proficiency in weapons sparring and self defence.
Hockley FMA focuses on the use of weaponry and Filipino style empty hand striking. The primary weapons studied are Single Stick, Double Stick, and Short Staff, while the empty hand striking is taught from a Filipino Boxing perspective. The program also incorporates supporting skills of joint locking and grappling.
Students will learn to be proficient at these skills, while covering all ranges of combat from long range to close quarters.
Through the use of training drills, technique based learning, and sparring, students will gain confidence in themselves across a range of self defence situations.
